One of the greatest traditions of Terceira Island
Bullfights at rope take place in the street, and the perimeter is outlined with white lines on the ground, which indicate how far the bull can go. The bull cannot be in the street for less than 15 minutes, nor for more than half an hour. In the end, the party extends in the `comes and drinks`, that the people of Terceira call the “fifth bull”.
