The starting point to begin our approximately 3-hour guided tour of the capital of Terceira is at Jardim José Agostinho (our kiosk). We will take a walking tour through the main attractions of this Azorean city, declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. From the kiosk (José Agostinho Garden) we go up towards the entrance of the city, we will reach Alto das covas, then we will go to the Duque de Bragança market, visit the interior of the Paço dos Capitães Generais, which was the old Jesuit college and today houses valuable works of art. We will continue our visit to enter the Misericórdia Church, which will welcome us with its imposing white and blue façade. We will learn about the history of the Paços do Concelho building from the outside and, of course, we will enter the famous Santíssimo Salvador da Sé church, the cathedral of Angra do Heroísmo. Stop at a pastry shop where you will have 25 minutes free time to have a coffee and taste a typical sweet. With our energy recharged, we will continue on our way to the Teatro Angrense, a 19th century building which is home to the island’s theatre groups and major national representations. Finally, we will visit the Botanical Garden (Duque da Terceira garden) where we will ascend to the Alto da Memória (Memory of D. Pedro IV) A real show.
